2 weeks and counting
It's been 2 weeks and counting since a major update. You think tonight can be the night where we see something cool?
It wont be the new areas because they already stated they are coming in august. Tonight will probably either be
1. Some minor glitches or flaws
2. They will leave us hanging again with no update nor any written word of when a new one will come.

I'm not a flaming person so I'll intentionally leave the rest blank after I say that A-Net has been the best Dev Team as far as updates I've ever encountered.

You forget about Observer Mode, they have mentioned that numerous times. Also, quit complaining about updates, if your so bored, go do something else. Posting about no updates isn't gonna get you anything but flames.

Well... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The ANet team seems to be hard at work getting the summer update ready. So it would make sense that updates would be fewer leading up to that. Plus, as the game gets older, it becomes more stable. More of the critical bugs, crashes, and exploits have already been identified and fixed. I'm sure if ANet found something critical, an update would be issued to address it. They aren't "leaving us hanging" at all. They are just focusing their efforts and time on what is most needed. What would you rather have? The summer update on time? Or a handful of (ultimately meaningless) quests in already explored areas?

without starting a flame away thread about 'bet they will just holdthe cat by the tongue and laugh' I think we may just have a few minor patches for areas in pvp that certain people have been able to exploit ... not naming names.lol
if not no big whoop ... take your time (and let me win boss contest)

You've got an MMO for the retail price of a single-player game and no monthly fee; so why do you, and so many others, act so insistant and demanding about updates? Like spoiled children.
Remember; it's about quality, not quantity.

Because we suggest so many great ideas but yet anet doesn't look at them or they dont think they are important.
How many times have people mentioned guild hall updates?
How many ranger skills need to be revamped?
Alex and gaile work for GW right? Why haven't they been posting about the progress of updates and stuff. They are customer reps correct?
Im just asking for them to keep us informed.
I personally have sent probably like 50 emails of suggestions and haven't got a live response back YET. its been weeks.

I was thinking that very same thing.
When I bought Morrowind, I had to fork out $10-$20 for each upgrade/update. And I never expected them to listen to my ideas for improving the game.

Boooofreakinghoooo. I'm sure the devs should be working on *gasp* developing as opposed to having to take the time to send an email to every single person, like yourself, who think if there isn't an update then something must be wrong.
Anet has done the best job I've ever seen so relax.

You had to buy the game, which was fantastic out of the box, for a one time price. What right do you have to crack the whip over the dev's heads? If you bought some FF game and then emailed a bunch of suggestions to the devs, would you expect them to release an update patch every couple weeks to improve the game for all the buyers? No. You're not paying them to keep dev'ing, so sit down and be happy that they're making any updates at all.
Furthermore, as it is, they've been more active with the updates in the two months they've been out than most MMORPGs that require monthly fees are (reminder: you're not paying monthly fees). I'd expect people to be up in applause for them. Seeing whining like this over a couple weeks w/o new goodies makes me sick.

I may not have been here long but ive seen more "update" threads than one person should see in a life time
the game is free so the update will happen when it happens.. just be happy sooner or later you will get something for nothing

In short we bought a imcomplete game that was seriously unbalanced and needs fixing. This game could be 100000x better than any mmorpg on the market with a little update and some ideas used from members.

Ain't that the truth?
I am so sick of people and their demanding attitudes. We are so darned lucky that AN even bothers to come here. They are the most responsive group of developers I have ever seen. That they aren't sending out emails in response to every idea that is sent their way isn't an indication that they aren't listening.
God forbid they actually spend time doing what you whiners are wanting them to do: Work on updates.
Thanks Anet for your continued support and for putting out polished products rather than rushing junk out the door as so many others in your field do these days.

Get over the idea that this is an MMORPG! It is an action "FPS"ish kind of game with a bit of RPG elements put into it. The game was NOT rushed out the door. The game is NOT half finished.
Perhaps your 50 emails have them so boggled and astounded at your breathtaking ideas that they simply are...speechless.

and i supose you could make a better one?
look, the game just came out a little while ago, they arnt going to make a game and completely change it a week later, things take time you need to learn that.. as for all the flaws you speak of, i have found little to no flaws at all in this game, im not paying montly and its the first "new" PC game ive bought since like D2.. you just need to stop thinking so negitive.. look at all the good things GW has to offer

On the contrary, they do look at our ideas. A number of the features in the game came directly from player input during beta and after launch.

You know, you sound like someone who honestly has no idea how game design and production, or a company in general, works.
Arenanet has a limited number of staff, and that limited number of staff are spread across many different departments. In the real world, not the fantasy world in your head, a company just does not have the manpower to read every single player's ideas and put them all into the game with every update two weeks or less apart. In fact, you find a way for them to do that without going bankrupt and I'm sure they will eternally thank you.

Ask (almost) anybody on this forum. Alex and Gaile do a fantastic job of making sure that Arenanet knows what's on the minds of the players who use this forum, and that we know that's on the minds of the guys at Arenanet.
It's almost slanderous how you just threw out their names as if they sat on their hands all day long. As I said in my previous post, people who make threads with these sorts of expectations and demands are like spoiled children. You're already getting everything for practically nothing, even if Arenanet never released another patch then Guild Wars would still be worth the money.
Man. My blood is actually beginning to boil because of that comment about Gaile and Alex, you have absolutely no concept of value or how much work actually goes into making a game, do you.

Just let this guy go...if you look at his previous posts they're all flamebait. We'd do this board good to just ignore him.
